After attending my first conference with the NHAEA, an opportunity I had because of my Art Ed professor Erin Sweeney, I have been in contact with the head of the organization. We've spoken a little about the next steps moving forward for me to join. Still a work in progress for now.
Other community service
The Mess Fest, put on by the Ty Louis Campbell foundation. I volunteered to help out with that. It's a fundraiser for pediatric cancer research based out of NY. The reason I even know about this is because the leaders of the group, the Campbell family are family friends. I spent ten hours or so there. It was two days I believe. This was years ago.

Employment History
Intern at Newfound Memorial Middle School- Spring of 2022.
-Under His Wings Preschool
Position: Associate Teacher and Counselor
Feb 2021 - August 2021
I worked as an observing teacher, but I was soon delivering lessons to preschoolers 4 and 5 y/o. I would sub for teachers when they were out, once for a whole week.
I then worked in the summer program with older kids between the age of 6 and 12, which was a blast. I worked with one other teacher primarily and we came up with new art projects and games to play everyday.
-Silver Spruce Montessori
Position: Camp Counselor/maintenance 2020
This job was a learning experience all about the Montessori method, the importance of outdoor play, exploration, and choice based learning. As a teacher I was taking on the role of a learning facilitator or guide, rather than the primary deliverer of information. Then I made repairs to the playground equipment.
-Memorial Elementary
Position: afterschool program 2018
My first position working in a public school setting. I got to know the students really well, I was finding my voice in how I speak with students and built relationships. I was often a mediator in settling small conflicts between students. We would play games, do homework and watch movies almost daily.
-Self employed guitar teacher 2017
During high school I developed an appreciation for the dynamic relationship between student and teacher. I loved see them learn one little thing at a time, we'd have fun as those things built on each other and we could play better and better music together every day after school.
-Nashoba Valley Ski Area 2016
Position: Snowboard Instructor
As an instructor I would talk over, guide, direct, and teach a large group of kids. I wasn't much older than some of my students at this job. I was about 16 and really took advantage of the free lift ticket. But I did a lot of working with a group of kids, taking charge, and being a leader. I really found my voice, and my confidence in a group setting.
-Book Illustrator 2016-17
Projects:
The Adventures of SuperTy and Gavin
The Muddy Puddle Parent
My mom has written a few children's books, and parenting guides. I helped her with these projects by illustrating. It was fun, but hard work. I learned that I need to budget my time and work in an organized fashion in order to get anything done.
